January 9, 2022 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm

What do Giant Puffballs, Chicken of the Woods, and Dead Man’s Fingers all have in common? They’re all types of mushrooms that can be found in Nebraska! Chance Brueggemann, Project Biologist for the Northern Prairies Land Trust and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, will help us learn about the many types of mushroom-producing fungi that can be found in Nebraska woodlands. We’ll dive into what makes mushrooms an important part of the ecosystem, receive an introduction to mushroom identification and names, and hear stories from the field from a biologist with a fascination with mushrooms.
