Band: Battle of the Bands (NRG)
Band #1: Sub-Vectors
The Sub-Vectors are Omaha's most radical instrumental surf band. Influenced by the likes of Dick Dale, Man or Astro-Man, and Link Wray, among others, The Sub-Vectors strike a reverb-drenched tone that might have you mentally surfing waves on a California beach or dodging bullets in a Tarantino film. The band consists of Sam Riggs (guitar and hair flips), Trenton Albers (drums and megaphone antics), and Tim Knowles (bass and mustaches). The Sub-Vectors have two full studio albums, available on Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify, or wherever you get your music. You can often find them live at Lake Lono Rum Club (Omaha's best tiki bar), in the Old Market during Surf Rock Thursdays (on hiatus due to the pandemic, but hopefully starting back up sooner rather than later).
