7th – Full Moon Hike – Hunter’s Moon at Fontenelle Forest Nature Center; Have you ever hiked under a full moon? Or wondered what forest life comes out after dark? $10 for members; $20 for non-members; 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. MORE

8th – Union Omaha takes on South Georgia Tormenta FC at Werner Park; Nebraska’s only professional soccer club; Union pushes toward USL playoffs; 7 p.m. MORE

9th – Diamond Dan: Neil Diamond Tribute Show; Dan always has been an avid Neil Diamond fan and he captures the essence of Neil’s unique sound; Soaring Wings Vineyard and Brewing in Springfield; 2 p.m. MORE

15th – Sumtur Twilight Dash and Fall Hootenanny; race starts at 4 p.m. and hootenanny at 4:30 p.m.; free concert from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., featuring the Polka Police; the Papillion Taco Guy will be on site; drink specials (beer, wine and soda) during the event; bonfires will be open during the concert. 16th – Cruise-N for a Cause Car Show, sponsored by the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Foundation, at Werner Park parking lot; free for the spectators; proceeds benefit the Sarpy County Victim/Witness Unit to help those individuals who are in need; noon. MORE

21-23 – Wolves Socctoberfest – Girls Weekend – La Vista Sports Complex; soccer players from across the region compete in this local tournament.

29th – Bellevue University Women’s and Men’s Basketball gets underway at the Gordon Lozier Arena on campus; 5 p.m. – women; 7 p.m. – men. MORE
