Join the Sarpy County Museum for a walking tour of historical downtown Papillion. The tour will meet in front of Papillion City Hall. Parking is available on the street or in public lots located around city hall.
This walking tour will showcase the unique history of downtown Papillion, where the city’s past and present come together. Several of the sites and buildings have historic markers and plaques noting their original intended purpose and construction dates. Ben Justman, Executive Director of the Sarpy County Museum, will be highlighting the stories and history of the settlement of Papillion, founding families together with the growth of Papillion businesses. Many buildings and businesses along Washington Ave. will be featured during this tour. Through the years, Papillion has grown but its downtown has largely retained many of its 1870s railroad town original characteristics and design.
